After careful consideration of the information available from public institutions and taking a variety of measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Kyoto Tower Observation Deck will be reopened on March 23 under limited hours of operation.
Accompanying the reopening, we are striving to prevent the spread of infection while at the same time asking that visitors also cooperate to prevent the spread of infection.
Reopening day: March 23, 2020
Hours: 11:00am to 8:00pm (last admission 7:40pm)
*Hours of operation will be shorter than normal(9:00am to 9:20pm / last admission 9:00pm).
*Operations may be changed in response to the spreading of novel coronavirus and the announcements of the national and local governments.
・The observation deck windows are being opened to improve ventilation.
・The body temperature of the visitors will be measured by thermography equipment (operation planned to start March 31) and non-contact thermometers.
If thermometry shows that your body temperature is 37.0℃ or higher, we request you to refrain from admitting to the Kyoto Tower observation deck.
If thermometry shows that your body temperature is 37.5℃ or higher, we unfortunately have to prohibit your admission to the Kyoto Tower observation deck.
・Disinfecting of the observation deck area, elevator and other common contacted areas (stair hand railings, elevator buttons, etc.) has been strengthened.
・Admission to the observation deck will be restricted to prevent crowding.
・Fewer guests are allowed in observation elevator than normal.
・Disinfection liquid for visitor usage will be placed at several locations in the observation deck.
・Employees wear mask, frequently wash their hands, gargle, and to disinfect fingers with disinfecting solution.
・Admission will be denied to visitors who have a temperature of 37.5℃ or higher.
・Visitors with cold symptoms, such as body temperature 37.0℃ or highter, not feeling well, coughing, sneezing or a runny nose are asked to refrain from entering to the observation deck to prevent making other visitors feel uncomfortable.
・Please frequently wash your hands, gargle, and disinfect your fingers using the disinfecting solution provided throughout the facility.
・Visitors are asked to wear own mask.
・Visitors who do not have a mask are asked to be careful for the etiquette of coughing and sneezing (use a handkerchief or towel).
