Higashi Honganji Temple located near THE THOUSAND KYOTO has been affectionately called "Ohigashi-san" by the people of Kyoto.
Every morning at 7 a.m., a morning service (Jinjo Hoyo) and morning sermon (Jinjo Howa) by a Jodo Shinshu Otani sect monk are offered to all visitors.

A memorial service performed every morning
Date & time: Every morning from 7:00 a.m. (about 30 minutes)
Venue: Amidado (Amida Hall), Goeido (Founder's Hall) - Services will be held at Amidado followed by services at Goeido.
Participation fee: Free
[Jinjo Howa (Morning Sermon)]
A sermon by a monk of the Otani sect of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism
Date & time: Every morning from around 7:30 a.m. (right after the Jinjo Hoyo morning service)
Venue: Goeido (Founder's Hall)

You do not need to apply. Please feel free to participate on the day.

- Go to Higashi Honganji Temple from THE THOUSAND KYOTO (about 10 to 15 minutes on foot)
- Participate in morning services at Amidado (Amida Hall) and Goeido (Founder's Hall)
- Program ends, leave individually; Please also visit Higashi Honganji Temple.

About 500 meters north on Karasuma-dori Street (about 7 minutes on foot from the JR Kyoto station)
